Can you help me with Physics?

Question

When you turn a corner while walking, what force causes you to change directions and where does this force act on you?

What does the expression “you turn a corn” mean exactly? I can’t understand this.

  1. Unless you push off from a light pole or mailbox, the only force that can help you change direction is the force of friction between your footwear and the ground. You push the Earth in one direction and the Earth pushes you in the opposite direction (Newton’s Third). The force that both you and the Earth experience is friction.

    No friction, no turning!
